Thankful Thursday

  • My kind dentist found a way to do oral surgery without an x-ray which was a big relief for this hypochondriac pregnant lady.
  • Cheeky's been sick with the stomach flu, but the worst is over. She was in the hospital every two weeks last year for one infection or another, but this is the first time she's been sick this whole year!
  • The morning sickness is much subsided. I can now cook and eat spicy food again! I think I enjoyed at least three days straight of spicy Indian food during my stay in Chicago.
  • Cheeky's cute tiny voice, (except when she's screaming on top of her lungs) whispering and shouting, "Mom" first thing in the morning. The way she walks, her smiles, the way she crinkles her eyes, and how she looks at me when she wants a nose rubbing. And hip, hip, hurray! All that EC and enduring the stench of cloth diapers paid off. She's fully potty-trained in the daytime. I keep on pinching myself. I can't believe it was this easy!
  • Koko's prayers for a healthy baby, her solemn questions about God, and the funny way she thinks. Her dad was mad at the dog because he had an accident in the house even after several lengthy walks outside started asking rhetorical questions. Koko replied, "Dad, he's a dog. He can't talk."She is also one energetic child. I love watching her run up and down the sledding hill with a beaming smile on her face.
  • I can feel the baby kick! I am so happy and content with my kids right now (though truthfully, still a bit lonely and homesick) compared to the frazzled and crazy lady I was when Cheeky was first born. It's just a reminder that my life might be initially difficult with a new baby, it does end up balancing somehow. I also suspect that aside from hormones, I think I will be more relaxed this time around so I can enjoy this baby thoroughly. Just five more months!
  • Knowing and trusting that God is truly in control.
