Continent Bags

Koko is obsessed over the Wildlife Fact Files (purchased for very cheap at a thrift store!) and chases me all over the house to ask what each animal eats. I finally took some of the mammals from the mammals file and divided them into the different continents and put them in storage bags. You would have thought I cut Koko's arm. She was sobbing to return the files back to the original binder. But today, I took out the map puzzle and showed her South America and then took out all the mammals from South America and she had a blast and wanted to do more. Sometimes I get tired of looking at all those animals! Eventually, I need to sort through all the other files.

I was delighted that all the individual puzzle except for Antarctica pieces fit into the bags. Should I just cut Antarctica in two? It also worked out well that we have the North America map. Some of the animals' territory extended to some parts of North America, and it was cool for me to be able to take one of the puzzle pieces and say that this animal also lived in this place as well. I actually spent a lot of time making continent folders with magazine cutouts, but I think I'll stick to this for now.
