Review: Clean Kids Naturally Shampoo and Conditioner

Hurray! Bath time is fun again with Gabriel's Clean Kids Naturally shampoo and conditioner*. My kids used to detest washing their hair. Unfortunately, for the record, most organic shampoos for kids are not tear-free. The screaming became so bad that out of desperation, I used the Chicken combo of vinegar and baking soda on them. But maybe because we have slightly hard water, all of us ended up with dandruff. But things have been looking up ever since I bought Safe Mama recommended Gabriel's Clean Kids Naturally tear-free shampoo and conditioner.

My youngest who had became a screamer as of late whenever I try to shampoo her hair, almost immediately stopped crying after using these products. Hallelujah! It really is tear-free! My oldest still needs a prod, (She is very sensitive about water getting in her nose) but she also likes the products, especially the scents. I'm telling you that these products are comparable, if not superior to the drugstore variety in texture, scent, lather, and performance but are without the nasty chemicals, synthetic dyes, and phthalate-filled fragrances.

The tropical orange shampoo smells great, but the banana conditioner/detangler smells fabulous. I had to do a double-take to confirm that this was not synthetically scented. But seriously, banana essential oil is the bomb! It smells similar to Bubblicious gum without being anyway overpowering. I think my kids and I wouldn't mind having a lotion with that scent! I love how you can use it as a detangler without any water. It works for bed head and tangled curls and for days you go shampoo-free but just want to have some banana love.

Not only are the products paraben and phthalate free, made of organic botanical extracts, but they are also reasonably priced. And since a little dab brings a rich lather, I think it's even more cost-efficient. And again I reiterate, it's wonderfully tear-free. I special-ordered them from a heath store and got them for $6.49 each. But then I live in an area where the costs are generally lower. The only point of concern was that the shampoo contained corn extracts and so I e-mailed the company to inquire if the extract was derived from genetically modified corn. Thankfully, they e-mailed me back to say that they did not. In addition, I found that in their website you can request free samples. I just received my samples a few days ago and can't wait to try their Tiny Bubbles Foaming Bath and Germ Busting Soap. Stay tuned for future reviews!

Insider Tips: When placing a special order from your local heath store, check to see if they are under the Gabriel or the ZuZu Luxe line because they also go by the latter name.
