My Deformed Felt Strawberry

I would like to preface this by saying I do not know how to sew. But I had some cheap craft felt and tried my hand with this free strawberry template offered by Felt Cuisine if you sign up for her newsletter. If you want a easier version, Mummy Cameron has a strawberry tutorial under her list of "Softies." She also offers many felt tutorials under that category as well as wonderful and HUGE list of tutorials in general.

Felt Cuisine required to use French knots to make the seeds. French knots? What's that? Here's another tutorial on how to do French knots. It's actually pretty hard.

My final result? This!

Again, I say in my defense I do not know how to sew. But my children are so proud of me. And yesterday, Cocoa and I had this conversation.

C: Mom, I want an apple.
Me: Do you want to eat an apple? Should I cut up one for you?
C: No, a toy apple.
Me: Here's your (wooden) apple.
C: I want a different apple, an apple that you make.
Me: (Dawn of recognition) Oh! A felt apple. Uh, not now. Maybe later?

Ha, ha. But Mamabear, if you're reading this, thanks for all the links above and have mercy on me and send me some decent strawberries! Or at least some pictures of all the fruit you're making!
