red & yellow

Koko loves to dress up her animals.

"Knitting" with chopsticks. It's amazing how a salvaged piece of red yarn can become treasure.

Also, have a look at Kyrie's naturally dyed red eggs. You can find her instructions here. And while you're there, check out her lovely children's book list. How I love book lists!

Kae na ri or forsythia. Elizabeth Mitchell has "Pom nat tur ri," a Korean song that pays tribute to forsythia on her You are My Little Bird album. The lyrics are here.

The ultimate red and yellow: Jesus' sacrifice and glorious resurrection.

Aren't those yellow flower things called Mee Na Ree? Didn't the the name was forstyth. I really miss spring-- watching the green buds slowly come out, the magnolias blooming, and the yellow mee na ree bursting into color in the dead end of winter. I guess thats the small price I pay for living in Phoenix where its 75 sunny degrees in the dead of winter with greenery everywhere. I miss Chicago at times.....just not the snow and snot freezing weather!

Nope, I've confirmed it with the resident Korean. It is gae na ree.
