April's Nature Class

Koko has nature school at the nature center every month. We often have to leave right after class, but this day we wandered for a bit.

I think my favorite part of our monthly homeschooling nature classes is walking on the trails and listening to the instructor tell us about the trees, flowers, and birds. I wish I had a knowledgeable nature person with me on a daily basis. There's so much about my own backyard that I am clueless about. But my children and I are learning together. We learned that you can tell if a frog is a male or female by the size of its ears. Males have bigger ears. Also, frogs use their eyeballs to help push their food down their throats. Somehow their eyes sink down...
