Koko wanted to write words from her Bob book-- "Mat" "Sam" and "sat." Now she reads "Sa-m" versus "S-a-m."

I realized Cheeky's shelves needed something new so I grabbed these glass containers I had saved and let her first match the lids and then practice closing them. When I did this long time ago with Koko, I made the mistake of using containers that
all had the same lid size. So I looked for a variety this time. I got this idea from
Chasing Cheerios.

For the first time, I introduced Koko to the art of tying shoelaces. She got bored near the end. Cheeky wanted to try on the shoe.

We did some matching with the glitter glue Korean letters and these Korean alphabet magnets that I forgot I had. Koko was very focused. We were both disappointed to be missing a letter.

Usually, Koko grabs for the circle during the rare times she does the metal insets. And naturally, draw faces. This is her dad when he was he was young. I didn't know he had long hair. And because his chin is often prickly, she drew some fuzz.

But after trying another inset(!) she moved on to do use a triangle's edge to create this. I didn't stop her because it was so interesting and I was happy that she was at least attempting to make the lines. Since, I can't replicate a classroom setting, I often pretend to be the willing student who likes to try new activities and so she saw me making lines. Of course, this naturally lead her to cut up her creation, other pieces of paper, and generally making a mess. I finally found a box to hold their paper scraps.

In the meantime, Cheeky poured some beans and insisted on doing this sorting exercise. First, she just carefully placed beads in random compartments. But later, she did sort! She calls the striped beads, "Zebras."

And I brought out the eggs to pin punch and Koko had a hand with the fancy Montessori Services puncher(not pictured here). The kids love the fact that after punching a bit, you can rip the pieces out. And rather than waiting until they punch the entire piece, after punching a little, they rip and then punch/rip again. Again, I am surprised by how much the little one loves punching. Again, not in the line, but still...

Finally, they were done and went out to play with their dolls.

OMG soooo many GREAT ideas!!!! Did you pin the shoe to the cork?! Did you make the glitter glue letters yourself?
Wow, so NEW things, I feel your excitement mama!!!!
I was thinking of nailing the shoe on some surface, but maybe pinning on cork would work!
I did make the glitter glue letters myself. The glitter glue tubes make it really easy.:)
