When my good friend, Hannah Shin announced that she was opening her on-line shop, ummashin's goodies with her knitted and crocheted goodies, I had to laugh. I knew she was musical, artistic, cultured, and a great cook to tote, but gee, she's uber crafty as well?
She is talented, and I'm not just saying that because she's my friend. I originally commissioned her to make some hats for my girls, but after suffering what seemed like an everlasting brutal winter in the mid-west and since my girls owned several zillion hats while I had none, I changed my mind and asked her to make me a hat that would keep my ears warm and yet was fashionable enough to not make me embarrassed to be out and about in the general public. She exceeded my expectations by making it 100% cotton so it would be comfortable in the warmer months as well. And no one deny the cute factor in that flower.
As soon as it* arrived in its 100% recyclable parcel (I thought she was humoring me, but she says that's her standard practice for all her items) I snatched the hat and put it on my head. It fit perfectly. My husband who is usually oblivious to my fashion trends said, "Hey, that looks so pretty on you." And my children could not get their grubby hands off my hat.
"Mom, how come you have a beautiful hat? What about me?" asked Koko with longing. Next year, darlings.
So, there you have it, I am living proof that Ummashin's handcrafted goodies created for babies and children can be also successfully crafted for adults. She has been featured On the (Laundry)line and now Homemade Jill is hosting a giveaway for her shop. Win at hat! Rush to Homemade Jill now to enter into this most scrumptious giveaway for the little bebe in your life or like I did, for yourself!
