I never even heard of homemade fig newtons before I stumbled on to this recipe. Don't they look incredibly yummy? I bet you could even replace the fig filling with homemade jam. One of my friends just gave a fresh batch of blackberry jam.
They're healthier and probably more delicious than store-bought. Though they're definitely higher in fat which is good for my baby who is struggling to gain weight, but probably not good for me.
