Book Review: i love dirt

i love dirt is a small and compact book that is filled with 52 open-ended nature activities you could do with you children. I skimmed through this whole book and found it accessible and doable. In one word: EASY.

There are no crafts to do.
Zero preparation.

The book is divided into four sections that correspond with the different seasons. Every super short chapter (about 2 pages) has a special blurb called "Help Me Understand" which gives a kid-friendly explanation to a nature question related to the activity.

These activities are targeted to 4-9 year olds, but I think it's easy enough and ideal for a 3 year old. For older nature-deprived kids who have more sophisticated questions, this would serve more as a springboard for further research, rather than the end to itself.

We all know that kids need to get out and experience nature more. This book is a gentle nudge that helps us get out the door and have a fun time.
