Delicious Natural Cough Remedy

This is a Korean remedy for coughs that is delicious and soothing. It could be considered a desert--it's that yummy. Just make sure you remember that children under one should avoid honey so this is a no-no for babies.

Ingredients:
Asian pear (normal grocery pears will suffice)
honey

First, cut a small hole on top of the pear (stem-side) and scoop out the core and seeds.

Then fill the hole up to the top with honey.

Put the cut out piece with the stem on top.

Finally, steam on low heat until it is soft enough for a chopstick (or fork) to go through easily. It should be a mush consistency. Approximately 4 hours for a huge pear, and 2 hours for a small one. Keep in mind to not poke too far lest you make all the honey spill out the other end.

Traditionally, the steamed pear is squeezed with a cheesecloth to make a drink, but in our family, we eat the pear whole and even drink the water that the pear is steamed in.

Freaking delicious.

Nice, didn't notice these pictures before. Images detailing the steps involved always help with any set of instructions.
