This simple bird feeder has brought us so many feathered friends to observe in the dreary winter months

and even now in the full blossom of spring.

And though I saw this Magnolia tree in front of my parents' window for over 15 years

I never saw a woodpecker perch its branches until Koko pointed to it. So, to all my Chicago friends, woodpeckers do exist in Chicago streets!

My children, and children everywhere, seem to be on the move and yet notice and marvel at the littlest pleasures while living at the moment. It is a welcome change from my planning and escapist tendencies.

So "many" feathered friends (versus so "much")? But, yeah... that woodpecker's hard tuh see.
