Christmas-inspired

:: Adding pine needles to our smelling bottles

::Finding the exact shade of green of our Christmas tree using color box #3

::Cracking nuts with a nutcracker (most satisfying nut and screw) to add to Christmas cookies

:: Gift wrapping. Koko was obsessed with this activity for a while, but her passion was renewed with the season. She's even attempting to make a triangle fold on the ends. However, when I tried to show her how to make a straighter edge, a tantrum erupted.

:: Felting a ball for baby's Christmas gift! (I actually followed the instructions from Creative Play)

:: Stamping work for our Christmas cards. I realized that I get very nervous when I have kids do things that I want to look semi-decent. Working with my kids reveals so much of myself and is truly humbling.

:: Polishing wooden utensils and cutting boards (Kyrie's beeswax polish recipe is on her comments) I was thinking how it would be nice to have some seasonal wooden things...like a special wooden ornament or such. Well, I suppose the wooden nutcracker could be considered seasonal...

I've also received a early Christmas present from the baby. I was surprised when he started smiling, but recently, he started laughing! Unfortunately, every time we try to record it, he stops.

Also a reality check...I did not make the Christmas stockings like planned. But we did go thrift shopping and picked up five(!) I can't believe we have five members in this family!

No worries about the Christmas stockings...I have so many projects undone! Remind me to photo copy some great tutorials if you'd like them :)
The felted ball sounds great...can't wait to see it.

Lots of fun ideas. We bought some whole nuts and a nutcracker for Beeper to try out on Christmas.

Hey Becky, I know just what you mean (about Montessori homeschool).

The blocks are the same as the ones I talked about in the architecture cards post. We actually picked them up at Smith's (Kroger) in the Christmas clearance for $4. They are awesome blocks, and I am still excited about getting such a great deal on them.
