I've been searching for material for a felt food party and I was overwhelmed by all the choices. I'm pretty sure I want to buy wool felt, but should I buy this Holland felt or this organic plant-dyed felt? Obviously, the plant-dyed felt is better for children and it's supposed to be softer to work with. But it's almost twice as expensive than the Holland felt. And the color is also lighter. It's definitely more natural, but I wonder if kids like more vibrant colors.
Even with wool stuffing, there's many varieties out there, including organic wool! Thank goodness my crafty friend Barbara surprised me with a bag of wool! A nun who sheared it directly from a sheep(?) sent it to her from Chile. How cool is that? And I was all worried about the cost of organic wool. Thank you, God!
As for templates, I think we're sticking with some easy patterns likethis strawberry and doughnut. Actually, I wonder if the doughnut might be too hard. Thankfully, I'm inviting a lot of crafty people over. I also need to know if your kids would rather have pink frosting or brown? I know my daughter would want one with pink frosting.
Ladies, what do you think? Can we handle this?

Just to let you know Jo-Ann's Fabric is having a sale on their 72" felt fabric. $2.99/yard. It's not 100% wool, but pretty nice....
